📝 Overview 📝
Harmony is one of the latest projects that is attacking blockchain scaling issues. They are doing this from the ground up with a “full stack” approach.
The technical focus of the project is on resharding and secure staking. There will also be a component of decentralised randomness built in.
There are a number of technological innovations that have been built into the technology stack. These include the likes of redisigned consensus protocol and a new bespoke “Kernel” which will run the network.
The fuel for the Harmony Protocol is the ONE utility token. This was built on the Binance chain and is hence a BEP-2 token standard.
The team behind the Harmony protocol is quite experienced. They have worked at companies including Google, Amazon and Apple. They also completed a seed private sale in May of 2018 that saw them raise a total of $18m in exchange for 22% of the ONE token supply.
They did an additional crowd sale that took place on the Binance Launchpad. This was for an additional $5m through an Initial Exchange Offering which ran as a lottery ticket type offering.
Trading for the one token now takes place on the secondary market on exchanges such as Binance’s and the Binance DEX. There are currently high levels of volume on these exchanges which implies a decent level of liquidity.
Once you have the tokens, these can be stored on any wallet that supports BEP-2 assets. Your best bet is perhaps to use the likes of a ledger Nano S.
