Ravencoin is an open source, decentralized and Peer-to-Peer cryptocurrency that was developed specifically for the purposes of transferring assets.
Ravencoin is a fork of Bitcoin which means that it is built on some pretty established technology.
⚙️ Technology ⚙️
Ravencoin is a Proof of Work protocol. It uses the X16R mining algorithm. This was chosen because it is ASIC resistant.
Ravencoin has a 1 minute block time which is compared to Bitcoin’s 10 minutes.
With the asset creation mechanism, anyone can create an asset on the Ravencoin blockchain as long as they burn a certain amount of RVN in exchange.
Ravencoin also includes non-asset tokens that can be used for other purposes such as communication and voting.
💰️ Token 💰
The native coin behind the Ravencoin ecosystem is RVN. This was released to the community without any ICOs or pre-mines & with no founder’s pool.
There is a max total supply of RVN of 21 billion and the coin is relatively easy to mine.
👨💻️ Team, Partners & Development 👨💻
Ravencoin does not have an established team as it is mostly open source. There is a pretty extensive open source collective behind the project that keeps developing on it.
📈 Trading & Wallets 📈
RVN is traded on a number of exchanges although the bulk of it appears to be on Binance. There are strong levels of liquidity here.
There are also a host of storage options that support RVN including a number of hardware wallets.
